Sabi Sand Game Reserve, the “birthplace” of sustainable wilderness tourism and development in Sub-Saharan Africa, loved by guests and staff alike as a place of wilderness, wildlife and adventure. Home to the extensive Mpumalanga cross-section of wildlife, including the Big Five and various endangered species, the park also shares 50 kilometers of its unfenced boundary line with neighbouring Kruger National Park. Animals pass casually between the two parks, unhindered and abundant.
Arathusa Safari Lodge is one of the Sabi Sands most enriching and romantic bush getaways. Located within eyesight of the impressive, unfenced Kruger National Park, Arathusa provides the ideal setting in which to engage with the hitherto untamed African bush, and spend some time appreciating the area’s notable wildlife collection (including the Big Five).
Arathusa Safari Lodge accommodates up to twenty people at any given time in a series of standard and luxury, thatch roofed suites, all completed with en-suite bathrooms, verandahs, mini bars, air conditioning, mosquito nets, electronic safes, hairdryers and coffee making stations.
Arathusa has 4 ultra-luxurious suites. These remote and exclusive units are further removed, and have their own private plunge pools and lounge areas.
Arathusa is particularly well known for its leopard population, with regular sightings and a familiarity with the animals making for easy viewing. Additionally, the area plays host to large buffalo herds, elephant groups, and numerous lion prides, as well as the rest of the big five (in abundance), and lowveld game, including zebra, impala, giraffe, and warthog.
The area is also home to an impressive array of birdlife.
