Day 1
A representative from the charter company will meet you in Lusaka and escort you to your connecting flight to Mfuwe Airport.   On arrival at Mfuwe Airport you will be met by a representative from The Bushcamp Company. Transfer to Mfuwe Lodge in an open game viewing vehicle. It could be hot so have sun barrier at hand, a shady hat and your binoculars.  The transfer is about 45 minutes.

Nights 1 and 2
Your will spend the next 2 nights at Mfuwe Lodge.   Drinks are for your own account and to be paid direct to the Lodge.

Hidden away among huge ebony and fig trees on the banks of one of these beautiful lagoons, Mfuwe Lodge beckons you to participate in an exceptional African experience – the rare opportunity to combine the adventure of a lifetime with standards of luxury, comfort and service totally unexpected in the bush.

Mfuwe Lodge is the place to encounter the freedom and spirit of the real Africa.  The Lodge allows the visitor a special glimpse of Africa, as she was – untouched, unspoilt, and unforgettable.

Here exciting wilderness adventures are matched by the enchantment of the lodge, the warm welcome from the staff and the courtesy and efficiency of service.  Each of Mfuwe’s luxury chalets is decorated with superb attention to detail and is equipped with everything from a refrigerator to shampoo and mosquito repellent.  Each sunken bath has its own private view of the lagoon.  What better way to relax and forget the pressures of city life than to soak in the sights and sounds of the African bush?

View the rich wildlife from your own wide deck.  Game activity at the lagoon continues day and night as breeding herds in abundance come to quench their thirst.  For quieter moments the nature conservation library with its own deck shaded by giant ebony trees, offers a unique collection of antiquarian books and modern
reference material.

Nights 3, 4, 5
You will be transferred and stay on an all-inclusive basis for three nights at one or two of the following Bush camps.

Kuyenda is a wonderful bush camp situated in a very remote area of the park on the banks of the Manzi River.  The accommodation consists of 4 thatched rondavels made entirely of local material – reed, thatch and wood.  These rondavels are taken down and rebuilt every year.  The chalets are rustic but very comfortable and offer a really authentic bush experience.  Large spacious beds, with mosquito netting and colourful covers, an abundance of storage space and all facilities en-suite (shower, toilet and washbasin).  The bathroom is open to the stars and you need to order the hot water for the shower in advance thus epitomising what a safari is all about.
The main dining area, sitting room and bar are in a small open fronted thatched structure in the centre of the small camp and this is the nucleus of all activities.
As Kuyenda, like all the camps, is inside the National Park itself, big game action happens on your doorstep. It is a wonderful walking area and activities are tailored to the client’s needs.
Game activities include walking safaris and combination walking and driving.

Chamilandu offers comfort, class and beauty in one of the Luangwa Valleys prime remote river locations.  The decor of the 2-meter high tree house chalets is a tasteful blend of wrought iron and brass.

Open to a 180° vista, the front of each tree house chalet provides the exciting frame for all of Luangwa Valleys wildlife.  The four poster double beds enjoy a birds eye view over the waters of the Luangwa River with the magnificent Nchindeni Hills as the backdrop.
A series of seven ox-bow lagoons around Chamilandu yield diverse habitats and attracts abundant wildlife.  Specializing in guided walking safaris, The Bushcamp Company prides itself on top class guides and offers guests the chance to explore the area around camp on foot.

Catering for all safari tastes the camp offers both morning and evening walks and combinations of day and night game drives.

Game activities – walking safaris and limited driving

Chindeni has an altogether different character from the other bush camps.  The camp nestles on the apex of a permanent ox bow lagoon, off set by the magnificent Chendeni Hills.

Raised on wooden decking, Chindeni’s 4 en-suite tents provide luxury facilities.  Each tent has its own private raised veranda, which make ideal platforms to view the resident big game or to simply enjoy the serenity of the lagoon.

Each tent has 2 queen-sized beds, hot and cold running water, shower, toilet, double vanities and tongue and groove polished wooden flooring.

Chindeni accommodates an optimum of 6 guests but can take 8 guests if all are in one group.

Open dining/lounge and bar area is shaded by ebony’s.  From the bar there are steps down to the lagoon side where guests can enjoy an open air dining experience next to the still waters of the lagoon.

Bilimungwe is a cool and comfortable camp set beneath magnificent Mahogany trees on the edge of a small plain.
The camp consists of 4 reed and thatch chalets with en-suite shower, toilet and double vanities.
The rustic dining area and fully stocked bar are constructed on raised decking with views of Bilimungwe’s permanent water hole and abundant game.

Bilimungwe trails camp is nestled in riverine forest along the picturesque banks of the Luangwa River. The camp consists of four reed and thatch chalets with en-suite showers, toilet and double vanities

Each chalet has two queen sized double beds with large mosquito nets and an individual rechargeable lighting system. The rustic dining area and fully stocked bar offer panoramic views of Bilimungwe’s water hole and the abundant resident game that it attracts.

The thatched dining canopy provides a cool and comfortable environment in which to enjoy this idyllic setting. The surrounding forest of evergreen shade trees form a majestic backdrop for those seeking the unique African experience.

Day  6
You will be transferred to Mfuwe Lodge and then on to the Mfuwe Airport for your connecting flight to the Lower Zambezi which flies via Lusaka.   On arrival at Jeki airstrip       the Old Mondoro team will be there to transfer you to Old Mondoro where you will spend your first night

Night 6
The concept of Old Mondoro is simple – to step back from the ultra-luxurious lodges seemingly springing up everywhere, and rather provide guests with an authentic remote safari that concentrates on the wildlife and bush experience. Where the call of the hyena replaces the hum of a generator, where harsh electric light is replaced by the soft glow of a lantern, where some of the best guides in Africa will help guests experience a closer look at one of Africa’s finest wildlife sanctuaries.

The “bush chalets”, resting on temporary slabs, have en-suite facilities with flush toilets, canvas bucket showers and washbasins. Paraffin lanterns provide natural lighting. The bush chalets are left with open views during the day, and at night canvas drop-down blinds with windows are lowered to provide more privacy and security. The Main Tent, which serves as a lounge and dining area, rests under a Winter Thorn tree and next to a Sausage Tree overlooking the Zambezi. A traditional bush kitchen supplies outstanding meals and fresh bread baked daily from a homemade oven. The entire experience is unpretentious and uncomplicated, but promises a unique safari that gives guests the best bush experience possible.

Day 7
You will be transferred to Chiawa Camp for a 2 night stay

Night 7 & 8
An exquisite location under a shady grove of mahogany trees, in the heart of big game country with expansive views of the mighty Zambezi River. Chiawa Camp consists of 8 spacious, well-ventilated safari tents, each set on its own elevated wooden platform under shade with a panoramic view of the Zambezi,. A refreshing dip in our Plunge Pool is most welcome during the warmer months of September and October. Chiawa Camp has a carefully positioned viewing hide overlooking the confluence of the Zambezi & Chowe Rivers, providing excellent, peaceful viewing of birds and the large mammals, often including the big cats!

Day 9
At the arranged time you will be transferred from Chiawa back to Royal and onto Lusaka to connect to your International flight.
