Day 1: Johannesburg/Timbavati Game Reserve
Upon arrival at OR Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg International Airport) you will be met by our representative and assisted onto your Charter flight to Akeru Game Lodge situated in the beautiful and diverse Timbavati Game Reserve.
Akeru has created a home-away-home that is completely relaxed, tranquil and informal, and hosts only sixteen guests. The social area includes a lounge with fireplace, a bar, an elevated loft area, an inside and outside dining area and the ultimate al fresco experience – an open air Boma.
Lanterns for light, eco-friendly battery power for fans and gas geysers for hot water are just some of the specifics that ensure an original luxurious rustic bush experience. Four poster beds, white linen and draped mosquito nets ensure absolute romance. Each of the six thatched chalets is en-suite with both shower and bath.
At Akeru you will enjoy game drives, both in the early morning, and in the late afternoon, with the Lodge’s professional rangers and trackers, where you will be able to track Africa’s “big five”, plains game, birds and reptiles. Daily walks are also encouraged, thus ensuring that the more fascinating phpects of our fauna and flora are not overlooked – emphasising an appreciation of the complete wilderness experience. The evening holds a sense of anticipation as the rare and elusive nocturnal species begin their night activities.
Meals are very much “home-cooked” affairs, and great care is taken to ensure that even the most discerning taste buds are well satisfied.

Day 3: Sabi Sand Wildtuin
This morning after breakfast and your morning game drive, you will be transferred by road to Elephant Plains Game Lodge in the Sabi Sand Wildtuin (Game Reserve), where you will experience comfort and tranquillity in one of the world’s few remaining wilderness areas.
Elephant Plains is a privately owned and operated property within the Reserve. Over a period of several years the strict conservation policies and successful habitat management have resulted in a rich diversity of fauna and flora. Here you will come face to face with Africa’s Big Five and you may be lucky enough to encounter other rare species such as the endangered wild dog and cheetah.
Elephant Plains is home to a maximum of 20 guests, this combined with flexibility and gracious hospitality ensures guest comfort, and still allows for a very personal service. There is a choice of standard or luxury accommodation.
The highlight of your visit is the thrill of discovering wildlife from the safety of open 4×4 vehicles. Your experienced game ranger and local Shangaan tracker are keen to share with you their extensive knowledge and love of the African bush.
Your day starts with an early morning game drive, followed by breakfast, where after a bush walk gives you the opportunity to further appreciate your unique environment. During the afternoon game drive you will stop at a carefully selected venue to enjoy a spectacular African sun-set, with sun-downer in hand.
Breakfast and lunch are served buffet style in a thatched Lapa and evening meals are served around a fire in the Boma. Each meal is prepared with exquisite care and this combined with the open-air setting, promise an unforgettable dining experience.

Day 5: Sabi Sands/Johannesburg
This morning after breakfast, you will return to the OR Tambo International Airport, by charter flights, where you will continue with your onward arrangements.
