Discover an oasis in the Kalahari of Botswana, along with the magnificent and pristine Okavango Delta, the Kwando River, Chobe National Park and Victoria Falls on this diverse safari, which is sure to make your Safari to Africa a treasured memory.
Your adventure starts this morning, with the scheduled Air Botswana flight from Johannesburg to Maun on BP212 departing at 10:10 AM to arrive in Maun at 11:40 AM.
At Maun airport you will be met by a representative of Delta Air who will fly you by light aircraft to the Deception Valley airstrip where you will be met and transferred to Deception Valley Lodge.
Interact with the San (Bushmen) of the Kalahari on one of the Cultural walks at Deception Valley Lodge. Here you can experience the vastness of the Kalahari while enjoying some prolific bird life or do some star gazing at night.
The Lodge accommodates up to 16 guests and is private and restful. Attention has been given to every detail ensuring a completely different experience, in the arid Kalahari – stretching for miles. Each unit stands separately, on stilts connected to the main lodge by wooden walkways.
The lodge has an ethnic African theme and was build to fit into the surrounding bush without altering, damaging or detracting from its ambience and colour.
An inviting swimming pool situated close to the main complex, to enhance the enjoyment of our guests, as well as a Boma for night time meals, whilst gazing across a clear night sky with its abundance of stars and listen to the enthralling night calls of the wild completes the main complex area.

What makes Deception Valley Lodge unique is the rare opportunity to explore this remarkable environment with San (Bushmen) Guides. Explore the bush on foot, learning the hunting and survival skills, the culture and crafts of a People, who over the centuries have adapted their lives to survive in an inhospitable environment.
Other activities at Deception Valley Lodge include afternoon and night drives in custom-built game viewing vehicles with the chance to see lion, cheetah, leopard, giraffe, kudu and if lucky, the elusive brown hyena. The night drives in particular will reveal a fascinating world of nocturnal species. Deception Valley is also a bird lover’s paradise.
After an early morning game activity and brunch, you will be flown by light aircraft to the Kwara airstrip where you will be met and transferred to Little Kwara Camp.
The camp is situated on a treed Falcon on the edge of the permanent waters of the world-renowned Okavango Delta. The concession shares a common boundary with the Moremi Game Reserve. This is a new Camp and accommodates only 8 guests.
Little Kwara Camp will offer a number of activities: year-round mekoro trips, boat cruises, Falcon walks as well as game drives both off-road and at night. Fishing is also offered on request, using normal reel and rod fishing – flying fishing enthusiasts need to bring their own equipment.

We travelled with Falcon Safaris in Zimbabwe and Botswana for 16 days. Falcon designed a wonderful trip with private guide to the most interesting sites in both countries. The organization of the whole trip was excellent, flights within the country, accommodation and activites. The guides were very knowledgable and told us a lot about the countries, their history, people, economy and much more. Wevisited the Great Zimbabwe Ruins, the Victoria Falls and a number of national parks in both countries.
Rhino tracking was a real adventure! We had tremendous further game drives and saw very many animals - we did the Big Five. We had much more activities than planned and enjoyed very much.We strongly recommend Falcon Safaris to everyone planning a trip to Southern Africa and East Africa.
Our Consultant Vimbai was very helpful and accommodating. We stayed at the Elephant hills hotel which was nothing short of amazing. Our activities included a helicopter flight, dinner cruise as well as a morning game drive. All the activities were absolutely amazing.
We worked with Gertrude to schedule and organize everything and she did an excellent job. I asked a lot of questions via e-mail and she answered everyone in a timely helpful manner. Our guide at Victoria Falls was also great. He met us at the airport, provided a thoughtful tour of the Falls and got us to our next guide in Botswana. Our lodgings at River View Lodge were just as described- very comfortable and excellent food. All the staff were so pleasant and helpful. If I had to do it again I would arrange a morning boat ride as well. We only did the sunset boat rides and they were the high point of our entire trip- we saw so many animals and our guide was very knowledgeable. Just a great experience. Our lodgings at Oddball's Enclave was rustic and we loved it. So great to disconnect from the world for a bit. Leo, our guide, was the best - got us out and about, saw fantastic wildlife and got back to camp safely each time. Doc manages the camp so well. This whole trip was planned and organized by Falcon Safaris and we could not have been happier.
Falcon safaris have given my the correct advice with excellent service. The only suggestion will be to work closer with the lodges to confirm bookings as soon as possible. We have booked and pay our deposit a year in advance. We have only receive our final convermation from Chobe Safari lodge a week before departure. I do realize its not within your controle but with limit alternatives and a group of 14 people it becomes an issue to find alternative accomodation if the booking was cancelled.
Our passion for Africa and her rich diversity is what drives us to deliver superior itineraries for you. With over 30 years’ unrivalled experience, we believe your trip should be as unique as you are and so we tailor-make them for you as an individual.
