Make the most of your time at Serengeti National Park by adding a sunrise hot air balloon ride to your vacation, which lets you view the plains and wildlife from a perspective many never experience. Explore the untouched parts of Serengeti as you casually drift away from the surface of the earth in the early hours of the morning, safe in the basket of a hot air balloon. Join us for a luxurious unforgettable balloon safari in Serengeti followed by a lavish Bush Breakfast. For your Serengeti hot-air balloon trip in northern Tanzania, you will be collected around 0500 hours.
Guests delighting in glorious views of the wildebeest migration in the Serengeti.Your Tanzania balloon safari starts when you are collected from your lodge or special camp for rendezvous at Seronera Lodge at 06am hours.
Soon after 6 in the morning you board the Land Rovers to be taken to the launch site, a journey of some 40 minutes duration, in time to witness the dawn and the inflation of the balloon. After a final pre-flight safety briefing you board for take off.
The exact direction and duration of the flight depends on the wind and weather conditions of the day but the average flight time is about one hour. Part of the flight will be at an altitude of at least 1 000 feet for magnificent panoramic views of the plains, another part will be at tree top height for unique views of wildlife.
The balloons are equipped with 'whisper' burners to minimise the noise of the burns necessary to navigate the balloon. Periods of 'burn' are quite a small proportion of the flight so there are many intervals of complete silence. The flight is totally smooth and feels windless since the balloon is travelling at wind speed. The variety and numbers of animals and birds seen will vary with the time of year, conditions and luck but everything that is seen is from an original and exciting viewpoint.
Guests taking lift off on Serengeti Balloon Safaris. The pilot will land the balloon near one of the game trails and then share a champagne toast with you. The retrieve crew (who keep in contact with the balloon by radio) will arrive to collect you and pack up the balloon. The rest of the crew, after establishing the landing area for the balloon, will have set up the breakfast table under a tree in a convenient spot on the plains. A freshly cooked full English-style breakfast is served in an unforgettable setting and then, after receiving your certificate, you will be taken back to Seronera Lodge arriving about 9:30am.
All the aspects of this adventure combine to become an unforgettable memory - possibly the highlight of many passengers' safari! The new operational base also operates in the Western Corridor of Serengeti National Park. The 12 pax balloon services clients of the luxury camps in this wonderful part of Serengeti (Grumeti River Camp, Kirawira Camp and Mbalageti Camp). The two balloons from the main base in central Serengeti near Seronera, will continue to operate as per normal.

We travelled with Falcon Safaris in Zimbabwe and Botswana for 16 days. Falcon designed a wonderful trip with private guide to the most interesting sites in both countries. The organization of the whole trip was excellent, flights within the country, accommodation and activites. The guides were very knowledgable and told us a lot about the countries, their history, people, economy and much more. Wevisited the Great Zimbabwe Ruins, the Victoria Falls and a number of national parks in both countries.
Rhino tracking was a real adventure! We had tremendous further game drives and saw very many animals - we did the Big Five. We had much more activities than planned and enjoyed very much.We strongly recommend Falcon Safaris to everyone planning a trip to Southern Africa and East Africa.
Our Consultant Vimbai was very helpful and accommodating. We stayed at the Elephant hills hotel which was nothing short of amazing. Our activities included a helicopter flight, dinner cruise as well as a morning game drive. All the activities were absolutely amazing.
We worked with Gertrude to schedule and organize everything and she did an excellent job. I asked a lot of questions via e-mail and she answered everyone in a timely helpful manner. Our guide at Victoria Falls was also great. He met us at the airport, provided a thoughtful tour of the Falls and got us to our next guide in Botswana. Our lodgings at River View Lodge were just as described- very comfortable and excellent food. All the staff were so pleasant and helpful. If I had to do it again I would arrange a morning boat ride as well. We only did the sunset boat rides and they were the high point of our entire trip- we saw so many animals and our guide was very knowledgeable. Just a great experience. Our lodgings at Oddball's Enclave was rustic and we loved it. So great to disconnect from the world for a bit. Leo, our guide, was the best - got us out and about, saw fantastic wildlife and got back to camp safely each time. Doc manages the camp so well. This whole trip was planned and organized by Falcon Safaris and we could not have been happier.
Falcon safaris have given my the correct advice with excellent service. The only suggestion will be to work closer with the lodges to confirm bookings as soon as possible. We have booked and pay our deposit a year in advance. We have only receive our final convermation from Chobe Safari lodge a week before departure. I do realize its not within your controle but with limit alternatives and a group of 14 people it becomes an issue to find alternative accomodation if the booking was cancelled.
Our passion for Africa and her rich diversity is what drives us to deliver superior itineraries for you. With over 30 years’ unrivalled experience, we believe your trip should be as unique as you are and so we tailor-make them for you as an individual.
