8:00am - 17:00PM
This 7 Day Classic Botswana Fly-in safari tour combines 3 wilderness areas of vastly differing eco-systems and animals but equal drama and species diversity.
This classic fly-in safari provides the opportunity to experience the Kalahari Desert combined with the Okavango and Linyanti wetlands in one special African safari. This Botswana tour offers opportunities to learn about the great diversity in the National Parks of Botswana.
The change from the arid desert areas to the wetlands of the Okavango and Linyanti is dramatic. The range of activities that you can be part of adds to the magic of this Majestic Journey Safari.
Some of the areas are in private concessions which allow for night drives that complement the game drives during the day to ensure a complete African Safari experience. Boat cruises and nature walks with the Bushmen add an extra dimension to your safari.
Today you will fly from Johannesburg to Maun before boarding your light aircraft into Nxai Pan National Park where you will spend the next 2 nights. The park is relatively new on the safari circuit but it is truly one of the undiscovered gems of Botswana. Activities here include game drives and nature walks with the Bushmen.
An early wake-up and breakfast ensure you are ready for the adventures of the day. Knowledgeable guides will share their passion of the area with you. Nxai Pan is part of the Makgadikgadi Pans complex, a fascinating area for true African Safari travelers. A waterhole in front of the bush camp provides excellent viewing during the hot hours of the day when the animals come down to slake their thirst. The afternoon activity will allow you to explore the area in greater depth before sundowners and dinner at the bush camp.
Today you will leave the semi-arid regions of the Kalahari and fly to what is known as the jewel of the desert, the Okavango Delta. The difference between the 2 areas is so dramatic that it is like arriving on a new continent. You will spend the next 2 nights here marveling at the intricacies of this special wilderness. There will be time this afternoon for a game drive before sundowners and dinner.
An early morning wake-up call will signal a day of many new sights and amazing experiences. You may choose to do a game drive, a walk, or a boat cruise before returning to the camp for brunch. During the heat of the day, you may choose to rest in your room or do a spot of fishing. Afternoon tea will be served on the deck before you depart on your evening activity which may be a canoe ride or an evening/night drive to experience another side of the African wilderness. The Okavango is indeed a special place and falling asleep to the sounds of the African night is an experience to savor.
Today you will fly north to one of Botswana's most underrated safari destinations. Kwando was for many years a trophy hunting area but in recent years photographic tourism has taken over and the wildlife has increased tenfold. You will arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon activity to experience wildlife that has been described by many as some of the best in Africa. A sundowner at the river's edge is truly a memorable experience.
The day starts early so as to get the best experience in this truly remarkable wilderness area, an area that is not known to many people. Predator interaction is some of the best you will see and the area is known for its population of the highly endangered African wild dog. The guides in the area are passionate about the place and they will pass this across to you in the interpretation. There is time for a siesta but you may want to spend that time watching over the wilderness from your room as you can never know what drama will take place. Evening game drives add something extra to an already spectacular African experience.
There will be time for a morning drive before your flight to Maun to catch a connecting flight to Johannesburg.

We travelled with Falcon Safaris in Zimbabwe and Botswana for 16 days. Falcon designed a wonderful trip with private guide to the most interesting sites in both countries. The organization of the whole trip was excellent, flights within the country, accommodation and activites. The guides were very knowledgable and told us a lot about the countries, their history, people, economy and much more. We visited the Great Zimbabwe Ruins, the Victoria Falls Tour and a number of national parks in both countries.
Rhino tracking was a real adventure! We had tremendous further game drives and saw very many animals - we did the Big Five. We had much more Victoria Falls Activities than planned and enjoyed very much.We strongly recommend Falcon Safaris to everyone planning a trip to Southern Africa and East Africa.
Our Consultant Vimbai was very helpful and accommodating. We stayed at the Elephant hills hotel which was nothing short of amazing. Our activities included a helicopter flight, dinner cruise as well as a morning game drive. All the activities were absolutely amazing.
We worked with Gertrude to schedule and organize everything and she did an excellent job. I asked a lot of questions via e-mail and she answered everyone in a timely helpful manner. Our guide at Victoria Falls was also great. He met us at the airport, provided a thoughtful tour of the Falls and got us to our next guide in Botswana. Our lodgings at River View Lodge were just as described- very comfortable and excellent food. All the staff were so pleasant and helpful. If I had to do it again I would arrange a morning boat ride as well. We only did the sunset boat rides and they were the high point of our entire trip- we saw so many animals and our guide was very knowledgeable. Just a great experience. Our lodgings at Oddball's Enclave was rustic and we loved it. So great to disconnect from the world for a bit. Leo, our guide, was the best - got us out and about, saw fantastic wildlife and got back to camp safely each time. Doc manages the camp so well. This whole trip was planned and organized by Falcon Safaris and we could not have been happier.
Falcon safaris have given my the correct advice with excellent service. The only suggestion will be to work closer with the lodges to confirm bookings as soon as possible. We have booked and pay our deposit a year in advance. We have only receive our final convermation from Chobe Safari lodge a week before departure. I do realize its not within your controle but with limit alternatives and a group of 14 people it becomes an issue to find alternative accomodation if the booking was cancelled.
We love Africa's diversity and create amazing trips for you. With 30+ years of experience, we customize every trip just for you.
