This deluxe 9-Days Highlights of Zambia Safari Tour of Zambia visits the South Luangwa National Park and Lower Zambezi National Park for excellent game viewing opportunities and takes a tour of the great Victoria Falls. Accommodated in the most wildlife-rich regions of Zambia, this safari vacation offers great game viewing activities such as game drives, walking safaris, Zambezi River safaris, and cultural visits to the local villages.
Arrival at Lusaka Airport you will be met a Pro Flight representative for a light aircraft to Mfuwe Airport.. After settling in to your suite in a private location in the South Luangwa, you are welcome to explore the lodge's facilities before preparing for a pre-safari lunch. Your afternoon game viewing excursion might allow you special sightings of endemic species such as Thornicroft's Giraffe, Cookson's Wildebeest and Crayshay's Zebra. The area is known for its spectacular leopard sightings. Afternoon game drives extend into the night for possible sightings of the nocturnal wildlife.
Back at the lodge, you will be served a delicious dinner either at the central dining area or in an alfresco seating under the stars during a private dinner. Enjoy post-dinner drinks around the campfire before returning to your suite for an early night's rest.
An early wakeup call and a warm cup of coffee or tea will prepare you for a day of adventure in the bush. The South Luangwa is the home of the walking safari, a superb way to encounter the flora and smaller creatures of the bush. After your morning safari activity, you will return to the camp for a delicious brunch before enjoying some free time at your leisure. Afternoon tea time will be served before you embark on a late afternoon game drive that lasts long enough to view the nocturnal creatures of the bush.
Dinner is served back at the camp and can be accompanied by a selection of cocktails and drinks. Once your taste buds have been satisfied, spend some time around the campfire as you listen to the sounds of an active bush and the sights of a ceiling of endless stars. A comfortable night's rest awaits back at your luxury suite.
After breakfast, you will be transported to your new destination - Sausage Tree Camp in the Lower Zambezi National Park. A road transfer will take you to Mfuwe Airport, where you will board a flight to an airstrip in the Lower Zambezi. A safari vehicle will then deliver you to the camp in a 60-minute game drive.
Mornings at this Zambia safari camp start with an early wakeup call and a quick breakfast, before the morning activity, which is a game drive, walking safari and bird watching opportunities, or a canoe excursion. Its position on the banks of the Zambezi River makes this Zambia safari lodge the ideal place for river safaris in boats and canoes, as well as fishing trips. After the morning activity, return to camp for lunch and some leisurely time. Choose a book at the library or enjoy an optional spa treatment before meeting your guide for afternoon tea.
Afternoons are spent fishing for the famous Zambezi Tiger fish, or navigating through the bush in a specialized safari vehicle in search of the nocturnal wildlife. Sunset cruises offer the perfect background to enjoy sundowners and an amazing African sunset.
Return to pre-dinner drinks around a campfire, before being served a combination between traditional African and classic dishes. Dining can take place in a variety of optional places, such as the open air dining tent, on a private island in the middle of the Zambezi River, deep in the bush, or in the privacy of your private deck.
After breakfast and a morning activity, you will embark on an air transfer to a bush airstrip, and from there you will board a connecting flight to Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport in Livingstone. A guide will meet you and drive you to Sanctuary's Sussi & Chuma lodge.
Spend some time exploring the lodge's facilities and secluded location before having lunch and continuing on to your afternoon safari activity. The upper Zambezi is home to the predator-free Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park and its exhilarating game drives and walking safaris.
Canoeing excursions, fishing trips and a sundowner cruise are water-based alternative game viewing activities. For a cultural experience, visit the local village and school to witness a typical day in Zambia. On the second day of your stay at this safari lodge in the lower Zambia, you will be able to go on a tour of the Victoria Falls. This natural wonder provides breathtaking views, refreshing splashes and wildlife sightings. Back at the lodge, you can be pampered during optional spa treatments using South Africa's range of Africology products. Further relaxation can be found around a blazing campfire with a pre-dinner drink. Dinners are served either indoors or alfresco, before returning to your magical tree house suite for an early night's rest.
On the final day of your Zambia adventure, you will have time to enjoy a final early morning game viewing activity. Afterwards, you can enjoy a delicious breakfast, depending on the time of your other travel arrangements. A road transfer will deliver you to Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport, formerly Livingstone Airport, for your onward travel arrangements.

We travelled with Falcon Safaris in Zimbabwe and Botswana for 16 days. Falcon designed a wonderful trip with private guide to the most interesting sites in both countries. The organization of the whole trip was excellent, flights within the country, accommodation and activites. The guides were very knowledgable and told us a lot about the countries, their history, people, economy and much more. We visited the Great Zimbabwe Ruins, the Victoria Falls Tour and a number of national parks in both countries.
Rhino tracking was a real adventure! We had tremendous further game drives and saw very many animals - we did the Big Five. We had much more Victoria Falls Activities than planned and enjoyed very much.We strongly recommend Falcon Safaris to everyone planning a trip to Southern Africa and East Africa.
Our Consultant Vimbai was very helpful and accommodating. We stayed at the Elephant hills hotel which was nothing short of amazing. Our activities included a helicopter flight, dinner cruise as well as a morning game drive. All the activities were absolutely amazing.
We worked with Gertrude to schedule and organize everything and she did an excellent job. I asked a lot of questions via e-mail and she answered everyone in a timely helpful manner. Our guide at Victoria Falls was also great. He met us at the airport, provided a thoughtful tour of the Falls and got us to our next guide in Botswana. Our lodgings at River View Lodge were just as described- very comfortable and excellent food. All the staff were so pleasant and helpful. If I had to do it again I would arrange a morning boat ride as well. We only did the sunset boat rides and they were the high point of our entire trip- we saw so many animals and our guide was very knowledgeable. Just a great experience. Our lodgings at Oddball's Enclave was rustic and we loved it. So great to disconnect from the world for a bit. Leo, our guide, was the best - got us out and about, saw fantastic wildlife and got back to camp safely each time. Doc manages the camp so well. This whole trip was planned and organized by Falcon Safaris and we could not have been happier.
Falcon safaris have given my the correct advice with excellent service. The only suggestion will be to work closer with the lodges to confirm bookings as soon as possible. We have booked and pay our deposit a year in advance. We have only receive our final convermation from Chobe Safari lodge a week before departure. I do realize its not within your controle but with limit alternatives and a group of 14 people it becomes an issue to find alternative accomodation if the booking was cancelled.
We love Africa's diversity and create amazing trips for you. With 30+ years of experience, we customize every trip just for you.
