9 Days Mpumalanga and Cape Town

Day 1-3: Johannesburg/ Sabi Sand

Your arrangements start at OR Tambo International Airport (formerly Johannesburg International), where our representative will assist you onto your charter flight to Simbambili Game Lodge, in the magnificent Sabi Sand Game Reserve.

This Lodge is an intimate and personal experience of Africa at its best. It is set among magnificent trees along the meandering Manyeleti River with views over extensive savannah grassland, home to abundant wildlife.

The individually hand crafted suites are sensitively designed to blend with the environment and carefully positioned to enhance privacy – simple, yet sophisticated. Each suite has spectacular views from the unique en-suite bathrooms; the sala, and the private plunge pool.

Day 4-5 :Sabi Sand/ Cape Town

This morning after breakfast, you be transferred by light aircraft to OR Tambo International Airport for your scheduled flight to Johannesburg, where you get a scheduled connecting flight to Cape Town. Upon arrival in Cape Town you will be met by our representative and transferred to the Commodore Hotel, part of the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront complex.

You have the chance to spend the afternoon at leisure, explore the area, which also includes a working harbour, boutique shopping centre, and numerous restaurants.

The exclusive five star Commodore Hotel is conveniently located at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and boasts a certain quaint Victorian charm. Its prime location ensures that its guests will never be bored. The Commodore is ideally situated near the bustling centre of Cape Town and close to the Atlantic coastline.

The Clipper Restaurant at the Commodore Hotel serves fresh seafood as well as a cuisine, which is characterized by a fusion of local South African and international dishes. Light meals such as salads, soups and sandwiches are served on the outdoor terrace, which invites guests to relax in a beautiful courtyard setting with the calming sound of running water from the fishpond.

Spend your time in Cape Town on guided day tours around Cape Town Peninsula and Winelands or just take the time to relax.

Day 6 :Cape Town/ Franschhoek (Cape Winelands)

This morning your hired car will be delivered to your hotel, and you can set out to the heart of the Cape’s Winelands, the quaint and picturesque village of Franschhoek. Your accommodation is at Le Franschhoek Hotel and Spa – a new addition to Franschhoek, and already well known as a romantic getaway.

Le Franschhoek is located on the site of one of Franschhoek’s original country retreats and offers unparalleled views of the Franschhoek Mountains… the perfect setting for a taste of the legendary Cape Wine Route.

Features include a destination Camelot Spa, and bicycling to wine farms in the surrounding vineyards. You will also enjoy dining at the unique Le Verger Restaurant where you may sit outdoors in a charming orchard, beneath a glass roof which enhances a spellbinding view.

Other Le Franschhoek Hotel facilities include an authentic wine cellar and cigar lounge and a culinary School. All rooms have spectacular views of the Gardens, Vineyards and River. They are all air-conditioned, equipped with mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities, and are en suite.

Day 7-8 :Franschhoek/ Hermanus

You can take a leisurely, and very scenic drive to Hermanus this morning, where you will be staying at The Marine, a majestic, and beautifully situated five star Hotel – with incredible views of the Bay – famous for its seasonal whale watching. This is where the Southern Right whales come to breed between October and March every year. Hermanus is also known to have the best land-based whale watching anywhere.

Perched on top of the cliffs at Hermanus, The Marine has one of the southern hemisphere’s most spectacular seascapes. The Marine has 43 individually decorated bedrooms and suites, each with its own private facilities, and air-conditioning. Commanding views extend across Walker Bay or over the beautiful internal courtyard, finely manicured gardens and the Overberg Mountains.

Stroll along the cliff hugging path and take in the breath-taking views of the Bay. The sparkling, heated courtyard pool might beckon, perfect for catching some African sun or sip a glass of local wine in The Sun Lounge with nothing between you and the South Pole, other than 3,000 miles of ocean.

This morning, you return to Cape Town International Airport, to drop-off your hired car, before taking your onward flight.
