8:00am - 17:00PM
Victoria Falls is known as Africa's Adventure Capital, and the historic Victoria Falls Bridge is home to three of the area's most thrilling adrenalin activities - the Bridge Slide Victoria Falls, Bridge Swing Victoria Falls.
After the famous Victoria Falls, the Victoria Falls Bridge comes in as another legendary landmark that adds icing to the Victoria Falls must see list. The iconic Bridge is one of the most popular places in Zimbabwe and a true work of engineering. It was constructed in 1905 and was a remarkable achievement at the time as it was the highest bridge above water level in the world.
The historic man-made bridge opened doors to commerce, trade and recently tourism to the two neighbouring countries of Zimbabwe and Zambia. Not only is the view of the bridge on its own amazing but there are also some mind-blowing Victoria Falls Activities that you can do on the bridge, including the Bridge Slide and the Bridge Swing.
Ready for Adventure Jet Boat Victoria Falls with Falcon Safaris ?
Located at the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia, the Victoria Falls Bridge offers a fantastic view of the deep Batoka Gorge, and the raging Zambezi River below. To the north and northeast, you will see a section of the Victoria Falls and the first rapids below (maybe a few white water rafters as well). To the west, the river goes on between the steep cliff faces, and above the gorge in the distance, you can see the iconic Victoria Falls Hotel.
The Bridge Slide Victoria Falls is unquestionably the most sedate activity on the bridge out of all the bridge activities. Everyone can do it, from young children (minimum 6 years) to the elderly. It is deemed the safer activity on the bridge unlike the other 2 (bridge swing and bungee jump) that dare you to be bold and test your bravery. The slide provides an adrenaline rush that doesn’t leave you scared but wanting to go again.
This is an ultimate zip lining slide that is more than 100 meters above the ground and 300 meters over the Zambezi. You start on the Zambian side where you will be strapped and fitted onto a harness. The harness is attached to a galvanized or stainless-steel wire that runs across the gorge to the bridge. With your camera strapped to your arm you will then let go and glide across with the mighty Zambezi roaring from below.
You can choose to go solo, or you can go with someone else (tandem bridge slide) but not more than 2 people can go at a time.
The minimum age is 6 years to do the activity and children between the ages of 6 and 13 must go in tandem with a parent, guardian or someone older.
Have you ever wondered how George of the jungle must have felt swinging across vines in the jungle? This activity gives you that similar feeling in one ultimate Bridge Swing. Unlike the bridge slide, the swing makes you second guess for a minute and requires you to be more daring but it’s worth the thrill.
This activity starts off at the Victoria Falls Bridge. You will be strapped onto a harness that is attached to a rope which you will swing from. The rope will be attached to a cable that runs across the gorge. When you are ready, you will stand right at the edge, say a quick prayer and free fall for 80 meters towards the river before you swing back and forth like a human pendulum in mid-air.
Just like the Bridge Slide, you can choose to go alone or grab a friend to share the thrill and screams with.
The minimum age for this activity is 14 years and all children below the age of 18 years should have written approval of a parent or guardian. For safety reasons, there is weight restriction, the minimum being 40kilograms and the maximum 160 Kilograms.
The bridge is open between 9am and 5pm and you can do the activities during this time except for lunch time between 1 and 2pm when it will be closed. But it is closed for lunch.
The Victoria Falls Bridge Activities do not include transfers in the price you need to make your way to the bridge just a short drive or a 15-minute walk from town. Alternatively, there is a complimentary shuttle bus from Shearwater Café to the bridge. It’s important however to check in advance whether the shuttle will be available on the day you do your activity.
You need to bring your passport as the activity takes place between the borders of Zimbabwe and Zambia. You also need your booking voucher to confirm you are going for a bridge activity.
Jumping is stopped during rainfalls and storms to protect the cords and equipment but other than that Victoria Falls Weather is very conducive for bridge activities.
Your entire activity will be filmed and captured on video for you but is available at an extra cost.
The Victoria Falls Bridge Activities are arguably worth considering while taking Victoria Falls Tours. They are some of the unique adrenaline Victoria Falls Activities that are not only wild and daring but give you a sense of achievement after you do them.

We travelled with Falcon Safaris in Zimbabwe and Botswana for 16 days. Falcon designed a wonderful trip with private guide to the most interesting sites in both countries. The organization of the whole trip was excellent, flights within the country, accommodation and activites. The guides were very knowledgable and told us a lot about the countries, their history, people, economy and much more. We visited the Great Zimbabwe Ruins, the Victoria Falls Tour and a number of national parks in both countries.
Rhino tracking was a real adventure! We had tremendous further game drives and saw very many animals - we did the Big Five. We had much more Victoria Falls Activities than planned and enjoyed very much.We strongly recommend Falcon Safaris to everyone planning a trip to Southern Africa and East Africa.
Our Consultant Vimbai was very helpful and accommodating. We stayed at the Elephant hills hotel which was nothing short of amazing. Our activities included a helicopter flight, dinner cruise as well as a morning game drive. All the activities were absolutely amazing.
We worked with Gertrude to schedule and organize everything and she did an excellent job. I asked a lot of questions via e-mail and she answered everyone in a timely helpful manner. Our guide at Victoria Falls was also great. He met us at the airport, provided a thoughtful tour of the Falls and got us to our next guide in Botswana. Our lodgings at River View Lodge were just as described- very comfortable and excellent food. All the staff were so pleasant and helpful. If I had to do it again I would arrange a morning boat ride as well. We only did the sunset boat rides and they were the high point of our entire trip- we saw so many animals and our guide was very knowledgeable. Just a great experience. Our lodgings at Oddball's Enclave was rustic and we loved it. So great to disconnect from the world for a bit. Leo, our guide, was the best - got us out and about, saw fantastic wildlife and got back to camp safely each time. Doc manages the camp so well. This whole trip was planned and organized by Falcon Safaris and we could not have been happier.
Falcon safaris have given my the correct advice with excellent service. The only suggestion will be to work closer with the lodges to confirm bookings as soon as possible. We have booked and pay our deposit a year in advance. We have only receive our final convermation from Chobe Safari lodge a week before departure. I do realize its not within your controle but with limit alternatives and a group of 14 people it becomes an issue to find alternative accomodation if the booking was cancelled.
We love Africa's diversity and create amazing trips for you. With 30+ years of experience, we customize every trip just for you.
