What is the Boma Dinner and Drum Show ?

  • The Boma Dinner & Drum Show is a renowned entertainment and dining extravaganza that delivers an unforgettable blend of delectable regional cuisine, dynamic dance displays, participatory drumming, and traditional storytelling.
  • It is situated on the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge estate.
  • It has become a Victoria Falls "must-do" activity throughout the years, offering a distinctive cultural experience that floods the senses with the tastes, sights, and sounds of Africa.
  • It offers a 4-course meal with a selection of delectable foods from various African cuisines. A delectable array of appetizers, soup from the bonfire, a braai (barbecue) buffet, and a variety of desserts are all included in the four-course meal.
The Boma Experience

Duration: This event lasts for 3 hours. (7pm to 10pm) try being seated at least by 7:15

Consists Of:

  • A genuinely delicious and customary meal experience served as a buffet.
  • A drumming show at the end
  • Music and dance

What To Expect ?

  • The Boma Dinner does not include any transfers so you would have to arrange with a tour company or a taxi service to get you there and back if you are not staying at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge.
  • If you are staying at Safari Lodge, a shuttle bus will pick you up from where you are staying and take you back
  • When you arrive, you will be strapped in their traditional sarongs to blend in with the surroundings have a feel of the culture. You also have an option to get your face painted with simple patterns or anything you like, to add to the excitement.
  • After you are seated, a traditional hand washing ceremony will begin as it is believed before you eat, you have to wash your hands.

What You Will Eat, The 4-Course Meal ?

  • You are then served with the local traditional beer, which is quite the taste, you must give it a try.
  • The four-course meal begins with a shared platter of a mixture of mouth-watering specialties including bean fritters, smoked crocodile tail and skewered peppered impala.
  • You will then head to the campfire to test the chef's soup of the day. It is served with homemade garlic bread; potato wedges and a selection of vegetarian dishes are also available.
  • There is also a salad bar with a variety of salads to choose from.
  • The main course is truly a feast, it is a barbeque buffet with a wide variety of game meat, marinated chicken, beef, boerewors, the famous hunter's stew and even the Zambezi bream. The meats are served with sadza, a thick porridge which happens to be the staple food of Zimbabwe. There is also rice and peanut butter rice.
  • Please note that Halaal dinners are also catered for.
  • Conclude your 4-course meal with a tasty selection of deserts like the creme caramel, chocolate mousse, malva pudding, fruit skewers, koeksisters and many more.
  • If you are daring and adventures you can try one of our famous local delicacies, the mopani worm. It's quite delicious and if you are brave enough to give it a try then you will receive a certificate as proof and for achievement.
Activities

  • There is a sangoma (a traditional healer/ fortune teller) if you are keen, you can pay him a visit and find out what it's all about.
  • After dinner, you will each take a drum and participate in the drumming show, playing the drum and having fun.
  • A group of dancers will dance for you then you will then have an opportunity to get up and begin to dance with them as you enjoy the beat of the African drum and its rhythm

Where Is The Boma Restaurant ?

The Boma Restaurant is on the Zimbabwean side of the Victoria Falls. It is accessible and bookable in Zimbabwe. If you are staying in Zambia Its best you inquire on the logistics.

What you need to know ?

  • It is important to check the schedule and make your reservations well in advance to have your seats reserved
  • You should enter the number of people in your group or those that are coming after choosing the date you wish.
  • Please specify the total number of adults and children (ages 3 to 11), as the price for children under 3 is just 50%.
