Where to go on the Photographic Safaris ?

There are many places to go on a photographic safari but the most common of them has to be on the Zambezi River. Above Victoria Falls, the Zambezi River is a maze of islands and waterways and is home to thousands of species waiting to be captured on camera. It is essentially virgin wilderness except from a few hotels on the banks of the Zimbabwean and Zambian mainland.

What to expect ?

• Collection from the lodge or hotel where you are staying kicks off the activity.
• Your pickup time will depend on whether you have selected a sunrise or sunset photographic safari.
• The minibus or transport, will take you to the jetty site, which is roughly 5 kilometres upstream of the Victoria Falls and just outside of town.
• Here, you join your guide and get acquainted with the specialized tools you'll be utilizing.
• Once you are all set, you will then get into the river and cruise on the channel as you look for perfect spots and sightings to capture.

How long is the activity ?

The Victoria Falls Photographic Safari is about 3 hours long and this gives you enough time to take pictures and appreciate the setting and the environment.

• Hours during the summer are as follows: 0600 - 0900, for the morning safaris and 15.30 – 18.30 for the late afternoon safaris (Summer is from October to April)
• Winter hours are as follows: 06.30–09.30 for the morning safaris and 15.00–18.00 for the late afternoon safaris. (Winter is from Mid May to Mid August approximately)

Food

• There are light refreshments and snacks available for the afternoon safaris.
• There are teas, coffees and basically a continental breakfast on offer in the morning safaris.

Equipment

• The aluminum boat's unique shallow hull allows it to approach locations that are inaccessible to other boats, providing unique safari experiences.
• It is equipped with six specially constructed seats that can rotate 360 degrees and each of them has a special camera attachment that permits unrestricted movement while providing constant rock-steady support for your camera.
• High-quality cameras and lenses from Nikon and Canon are provided, but you are also free to use your own gear. You will take an SD card with you that contains all of your trip-related images.
• A photographic guide is always on board, and cameras, lenses, and mounts are provided. Transfers to and from hotels within a 10-kilometer radius of the jetty are also included (use of own camera is permissible so you can bring if you have.)

The Items You Must Bring

• US$10 per person for national park entrance costs (park fees are non-commissionable and payable on arrival).
• Clients' visas, passport validity, travel authorizations, travel insurance, immunizations, and other travel-related papers are not African-responsibility.
